Futuristic DVD Table

As the owner of almost 3,000 DVDs, I tend to really go for space saving designs like this futuristic coffee table. Then again, that is probably why you guys always send me these links in the first place! Thanks Edward Cabarles!

It would have been cool if this was a projector too. Just beam the movie right from the coffee table to the wall.
 
Is it futuristic really if it is a DVD table? Should be at least BlurayI would expect...
 
I saw the pictures and thought this was some kind of new heatsink design for quad cores.... I was wrong:D
 
when i saw this i thought it was a holder that also played the movies on the table...now that would have been cool
 
kinda reminds me of those old carousel slide projectors from back in the day.
 
this could be fun with the build in sub. invite your girlfriend over and crank it up.
 
I don't see it being that good of an idea.

Where's the electronics?
Would there be enough cabling to reach the TV?
How would you know which movies were in a certain order?

It looks cool, but doesn't look feasible.
 
People really need to get away from the idea of keeping the DVD case.
Your biggest volume space loss is becase of that case.
I mean that thing is easily 20 times BIGGER then that which it contains.
I'd much rather see a touch interface coffee table that loads and plays the dvd selected
from a media unit in another room by selecting its image from the table.
Or for that matter a small hand held reader.

Personally my dvds are loaded to a NAS, i use XBMC to connect to it.
And do all the navigation of the XBMC via my multi function cable remote.
Much simpler, and faster.
