Future widescreen game support?

I recently bought a 19” Samsung 193P LCD and as usual I didn’t put much though into my purchase. I’m presently playing HL2 and now thinking widescreen, so I’m considering returning the monitor in order to buy a Dell 2005FPW or wait a few months for others to be released. A monitor around this price range is sort of a long-term investment and I don’t want to be left behind if more widescreen games are available in 2005.

Do you think there will be much widescreen game support with new 2005 releases or is it still a few years down the road?
 
At this point about 90% of the newer games offer native widescreen, or at least the option to update a config file. All the newest AAA titles offer native widescreen.


So i would feel pretty comfortable saying yes.
