I'm currently looking for a decent, reliable PSU that doesn't cost the earth (under £75, ~ $150 ideally) and has enough wattage and ampage (the technical terms? :) ) to run a dual 8800 GT setup with a quad core processor.

Thanks

A pair of 8800 GT's don't need all that much power. 550W is more than adequate. Good 600+ is lots of overhead.

Not trying to threadjack here, but I was thinking of going the same route, except with using a Wolfdale instead. Anybody have a review of the OCZ StealthXStream 600W tested with dual 8800GT's?

Thanks for the responses,

I'm looking at the Corsair 620W with the modular cable design, since it looks like it would expand neatly when I have a few fans, 2 GPUs etc to run.

The prices on Buy.com are pretty incredible, but I don't suppose they ship to the UK?

$130 BFG 800 PSU ($100 after rebate) Why? Because of their lifetime warranty.

You will need that warranty, my BFG 650w of the same series/design blew up twice with a mild load. Granted they replaced it but it was a hassle. The last one came back had defective cables I had to chop and stick new molex connectors on which most likely voided my warranty. Not to mention the fan is louder than my Silverstone FM121 in my main computer.
