I'm jumping the gun a bit here but I was just wondering if anybody had interest in buying my mobo, proc,vc down in october..gimme a heads up.I just want too see if theres any interest right now.

Now I have finally made a future system that I will be trying to upgrade to. Here it is..tell me what you think. :)

1. AMD Athlon64 3500+
2. MSI Neo4 Platinum (if theres an ultra then that one)
3. ATI Radeon X800XL PCI-Express 256MB
4. SB Audigy 2 ZS
5.1GB Kingston HyperX PC2700
6. TTGI/SuperFlower 550W PSU

and some of the other things in my sig except the things i want to sell..

it was worth a try
What was? It's an alright system. Nothing out of the ordinary. What kind of response are you looking for, exactly? If you want to sell your things, there's a For Sale/Trade forum.

Btw, any particular reason for the DDR333 RAM? Or just plan on overclocking it?

well i would suggest a DFI lanparty ultra-d mobo and a 24pin native psu like an ocz powerstream or a fortron bluestorm.

There's no need; a 24-pin adapter with a quality supply will work just as well.

Changes to your setup, though-- pick a DFI Ultra-D, or a good Gigabyte or Chaintech NF4 board. MSIs have a lot of reported failures and randomly-dying boards, it's part of their esteemed history.

DO NOT GET THAT POWER SUPPLY. Get an Antec True 430w or Enermax Noisetaker 420w supply instead.

Get standard Corsair Value Select (if you get a DFI Ultra-D, then Kingston ValueRAM). And get DDR400/PC3200, not DDR333, or your CPU will be slowed down by it. XMS is a ripoff and doesn't yield significant performance gains.

For the sound card-- I'd say skip it unless you run a high end recording studio. Onboard sound on the NF4 is amazing-- the best I've heard. It sounds better than my friend's Audigy 2 most of the time... :p

i cant get rid of my kingston hyperx and a2zs  but the psu i heard it was good..huh i might get the BlueStorm 500 then

when october comes around it will be a totally different ballgame.. way too much will change between now and then to even start planning..

Why are you so attached to the HyperX? It provides perhaps 3% performance gain, only visible in benchmarks most of the time, for about 2.5x the cost. :p You could get another 1024 MB of RAM and eat at a fancy restaurant 3 times for what you saved. ;)

because i just got it last october lol

EDIT: Im sry if i confused some i do have some of those on the list already

it won't slow down your cpu.. but it will provide less total performance.. you can run a divider and run the cpu at whatever speed you want, and your memory at whatever speed.. people say that 300fsb vs 200fsb isn't really worth the extra cost.. maybe a 5% difference.. so 166 vs 200 would theoretically be even less.. someone that actually has an a64 should chime in though..

you could probably pump some more voltage through that memory and get it to 200+ mhz... or loosen the timings.. i don't know if 166 @ cas 2.5 or 200 @ cas 3 would be faster...

im running it at 348(174x2) right now on my current system and thats nothing really I havent even messed with the voltage... So with a new DFI board and a Enermax PSU i'm sure i can get it to 400 (200x2)

I've heard that running A64's asynchrously doesn't hurt performance very much.

As for myself, I've never run RAM less than my FSB. :)

New List.
1. Athlon64 (dont know which yet)/now 3500+
2. Gigabigyte GA-K8NXP-9
3. ATI Radeon something under $300 in dec./now X800XL pci-e
4. A2ZS (have this now)
5. 1gb HyperX PC2700 (have this now)
6. 500W Fortron Bluestorm (have this now)

Is this a pretty solid system? Any other recommendations? except for getting new RAM since nobody wants to buy mine..

Does anyone think I should go SLI even with an ATI card?
