First I'd like to say thanks to Tedkj again for the Giveaways.

I was running along nicely within 4 spots of the top 100 when I lost 6 dual Xeon servers that were folding for me. I was down to one laptop. Then they released GPU2 and I lost a lot of ground.

Funny thing is that I put together a Q6600 box and Tedkj added the GPU. This single box is now pumping out the same ppd as the servers I lost.

Crazy.

Now I'm looking at this thing. Q6600 running at stock voltage a bit over 3GHz, and staying at 55c despite the fact I live in Florida and keep the thermostat at 80F wondering if I can get any more out of it :)

I just think it's hilarious that I have a single box at my house outrunning the 6 dual xeons I had at the office. Can't imagine the PPD per watt increase I'm getting. :) I'm not feeling so guilty about the juice I was pulling anymore. They are about to build about 300 MWatt of solar power plants in this area, so I'm feeling even less guilty about the watts I was pulling to try to get to the top 100.

This thread is pretty much pointless. I just wanted to say thanks. I contributed over 3 million points to UD before I switched over to F@H. I can't think of a better group to be associated with in the quest to kick the @#($ out of cancer :)

 
It is incredible what these new clients are doing. My productivity continues to go up with my box count continuing to go down. That is definitely a good thing.

Indeed, let us hope something great emerges out of the science that's being produced, and hope Stanford doesn't suddenly change things with the clients besides minor adjustments. ;)

A single mid-end nVidia card is equivalent to one of my dual quads for a fraction of the cost. The thread I posted a while back about possible performance from nVidia was prophetic.
