Fun as in Overclocking of coarse. I got my Celeron D 2.4 @ 3.8 and am getting ready to try to go for 4.0+. I'm just curious to see what other people have gotten out of their Celerons. All Celeron's are welcome here...

Sorry for the same old CPUID screenshot I've been passing around here, I'll take some benchmark shots tonight and update this post.

i wish i could oc it more, but my mobo is the limiting factor (FSB stops at 153).... i would like to see how far it would go... i would say 4.0 is attainable

but being in a sff box heat becomes an issue too... at 3.2 and the hsf i am limited to at full load it sits at 57C ... but with the deal TD has on their Celeron D's im almost tempted to build another one

+ my celery D 2.66 at 3.8ghz (socket 775) in my main box, shame the ascock mainboard doesnt have any voltage increases.

+ got a northwood celery 2ghz running at 3ghz in my SSF (Aopen XG cube).

+ a old 667mhz socket 370 celery at work running at 1ghz, with no voltage increases and on a intel 815deea2 mainboard, overclocking using CPUcool. kind of just for the hell of it, runs our helpdesk software, lol.

+ finally a dirty willamette core celery 1.7 at 2ghz which is my main workstation at errm work.

I had a D1 Celeron D 320 for a while, it too wouldnt go much faster than 3.6, that was with a big voltage increase too. This E0 Celeron is MUCH better. I was tempted to buy a Celeron 310 that uses the G1 stepping.
 
I always wanted a celeron to oc, but my dell won't accept anything but 400 FSB CPU's and the D's have 533 bus.
 
I have a Celeron 1.3 that can run at 1.6 on default cooling/voltage. Its in my girlfriends computer right now. Quite a nice upgrade from the dual Katmai P3 550@618 she was running.

-Celeron 533@950ish, wouldn't quite make it to 1GHz
-Celeron 1.3@1.7ish
-Celeron 900@1.6GHz(Tualatin core) - board gave up first
-Celeron M 350J 1.3GHz@2GHz, had 25(!) of them and every one went at least that high. Not shabby for a $30 chip
-Celeron M 360 1.4GHz@1.86, never tried higher
-Celeron M 360J 1.4GHz@????, haven't had a chance to play

Looking for a cheap Celeron M 380 now. I know my board will hit 160MHz bus, and the 380 should hit 2.5GHz just as easily.
 
Unfortunatly I have never ran my Celeron 1.3 on a very good overclocking board. The board that its in now doesn't have any vcore options so I'm stuck with default. The other 2 boards I ran it on, one was a 440BX with a hacked slotket, and the other was a piece of shit Shuttle board with terrible increments in FSB and very little voltage adjustment.

I bet I could have hit at least 1.7ghz with a better board. Even at 1.6ghz you could tell that the Tualatin was a bad ass processor. No wonder why they used the Tualatin to base the Pentium M line off of.
 
I know she can do more. I'm using stock HSF with idle temps at 35c. I ran a quick benchmark test in prime95 and saw the temp go up 8-10c. I was going to post a screenshot of it but after resizing it came out horrible.

I swear I thought the volts in BIOS was at 1.40 but CPU-Z shows 1.44.
 
When I built my first computer, the fastest processor available was the Katmai P3 500mhz. It cost something like $800, I paid $95 for my Celeron 433, cranked it up to 590 and watched it lay waste to the Katmai 500's.

Similar story with the 1.3 I had, it could easily outperform low end willamette P4's and I think 1.4ghz P3's.

Even thought the performance gap between Celerons and Pentiums is much larger now, at 3.8ghz I can hang with a P4 3.0 HT.
 
What's considered pushing high temps with the celeron D's? I can run 2.66ghz 140 FSB at 33c idle and then over 3.5ghz at 35-36c idle. Does this make sense?

the prescott core runs nice and toasty, the 2.66ghz celery D's (in a btx setup) we currently buy at my work run at a stock temp of 42c, they get to 60c before the fan revs up and the intel main board start throttling the cpu at 75c (on the normal default settings)

my celery's stock speed's temp is about 35c idle, and 42c at full load, this only changes to 37c idle and 46c at full load when overcooked to 3.8ghz,,, and thats with intel normal boring socket 775 HSF :p
 
oh, i forgot about my dual celeron 500's on the BP6 i have.... but its no oc'd right now (my bro is a HS teacher so im letting him use it in his class)... but ive had them up around 700MHz fin the past... ahh, good times :D

You're comparing a Willamette to a Prescott...Overclocked Coppermines could outperform a Willamette. Just they have the same amount of cache doesn't mean shit.

Celeron 300A @ 464Mhz. Running on an Abit BE6-II, currently sitting in my closet.
Celeron 366 PPGA @ 577Mhz. Gave it away though :(
Celeron 850 @ 1.2Ghz. Don't know what happened to it
Celeron 1.0A @ 1.45Ghz. Memory holding back OC. Now my brother in law's.
Celeron-M 1.2 @ 1.92Ghz
Celeron-M 350J 1.3Ghz @ 2.2Ghz
 
I got all of you all beat. I have a 2.4ghz(if I remember right) celeron running stock in my bros machines. It has 512 of pc133 and is watercooled in a koolance case. Yea what :D

Nice overclock though. I really need to dig up a better motherboard and switch him to ddr. I just think it is funny to have a watercooled celeron p4 with pc 133 memory in it. Something just seems wrong about it......
