I'm looking for a fun game.

I just got done with Fable, and it was good, but it was over too quick. I was going to go for FEAR, but it is only supposed to be good for 8-12 hours.

I'm looking for something that I can enjoy playing for a while. Preferably not a FPS or RTS. Maybe a platformer. I like pretty graphics, but that is not necessarly what is the driving force this time. I just want to have fun and not have to go get yet another game next week.

Any suggestions?
 
Tales of Symphonia = 60-100 hours of gameplay :D
PC? Civ 4 will eat up your time
 
Guild Wars takes quite some time. (It's online, but there are no monthly charges.) F.E.A.R. isn't the longest game in the world, but it's very fun. Maybe grab an RPG or something that will take a while, and then grab F.E.A.R. and just play it for short amounts of time when you're taking a break from your RPG. Psychonauts is incredibly fun, and takes a decent amount of time to get through. (VERY funny game,) Riddick is extremely fun as well, but once again you're looking at a fairly short game. (It is only $12 at http://www.gogamer.com )

Does it have to be a new game?

System Shock 2 will suck you in for days. Morrowind will take a long time to finish.

Go back a little further, and play some old Ultima games. They'll take weeks. Here are some updated Windows engines to run Ultima 7 series and Ultima 8 (of course you'll have to get the games.)

Or how about Star Control II? That game can take forever depending on how you play it. Amazingly fun, funny and cool. They really don't make games like this anymore. Here is a Windows engine for it too:

Final Fantasy 7! O wait... the graphics thing... Well, it's a great RPG even without the fancy-pants graphics.
 
I had thought about one of the Final Fantasy games. I played them all on the PlayStations and beat them. They were quite fun.

Yes, I am looking for a PC game.

I can't do anything online because I am on satellite and the latencies are far to long.

I played Morrowind and loved it, but I never finished it. I might go back and play it. I did the same thing with KOTOR, so I might install it and finish it. I found both of those games fun, but never finished either of them. I don't know why. I did the same thing with FarCry.

I will look up the other games on google as I have never heard of them. In the meantime... if you have any other suggestions....
 
If you don't still own Morrowind, you can get the GOTY edition from gogamer for $22. Includes the expansions for more of an already incredibly lengthy game.
 
all games suck these days. Go get ut2004 and run people over. Or get riddick. Or sim city 4....or how about get a emulator and some roms. old games are always good
 
Right now I can't stop playing Trackmania Sunrise for some reason. Never really was a big pc driving game fan but this one has me hooked :)

Great graphics. The rollercoaster tycoon style track builder means there are pretty much unlimited tracks out there. What got me started was the multiplayer demo. Latency does not matter for online since its all against the clock.
 
The original Trackmania was a blast, too. Simple, good-lookin' and a whole lotta fun. :D I wasn't so much into the Sunrise demo for some reason. I guess it didn't hit me in my fun bone... *ehem*
 
of the Trackmania's I like Sunrise the best and GTA: San Andreas is a blast and its long, but the graphic's are only fair even at 16x12 with AA & AF on

Yep, yep, Fallout was most excellent fun.

If you like hack/slash action RPGs, there's a little-known one called Nox. Kinda like Diablo, kinda like Fallout, kinda like Baldur's Gate (though not as deep). I think one would find Nox joyous if one finds RPG games enjoyable.
