Having the upgrade itch now and it's been a while since the GFx card market has seen so many viable cards at such good prices--although I feel like they could be a bit better in an oversaturated market. Which eludes to this data sheet. Are we seeing more of the same w/these cards? My Cfx isn't showing a bit of age, but I'd like to get into a higher PCI-e bus as mine have always been 128bit. So which of these would be an equally powerful rep for "6970" performance? Or should I go the 7xxx route & yes Cfx is planned for this upgrade? Baah soo many choices!! o_O

Can't answer your question, but I must say that I'm stunned that they would have concurrent OEM and Retail versions of the same product running. Wow. If this is true - talk about confusing!

looks like the retail 89xx parts will be GCN2 or something more beefy.

What, in terms of bus speed/vRAM, is recommended for 2-3 1080p 120Hz 21-23" monitors? Seems like I may need that 8950 even though the 8870 is more in my budget( gdi budgets!!). As for that anand link it's from 1/7; this wiki was updated yesterday so I'll be using it fno or until something more informative develops. Besides that chart is inconclusive as it offers insight on only four offerings??

I didn't say his was, but I will say it again, I will trust Anand's reporting over something that can be edited by anybody and their brother. To clarify, I will trust it until something more authoritative is released. If you will look at the bottom of the article, here is his source. What is not "reference" about that?

I could have swore when I saw this earlier there was an 8830 on it.. I don't see it anymore.

w/o becoming too sidetracked; that mat is the same as the wiki refs. I'll stick w/the wiki-besides the more voices the better. When an article is posted the authors and contributors can be easily contacted. So if there's doubt about anything or it looks suspect, I'll check the sources. Looking for comprehensive info and that anand article still uses the same source as wiki which has been updating the charts accurately per the revision "history".
