Hi all.
I have idea.

Target:
- Full High-end GPU
- As small as possible
- Without compromise

Config:
- Mini-ITX motherboard
- Low profile 1U CPU cooler (for example, Thermaltake Engine 27)
- CPU i5-7600/i7-7700 (TDP 65W)
- FlexATX 1U PSU (for example, Athena FlexATX 500W 150x82x41)
- GPU 1070/1080/Titan X Pascal Founders Edition
- M.2 SSD (960 Evo/Pro)
- 3M PCIe extender

Internal structure (component's layout) is the same as Dan Cases. GPU on the left side. MB/CPU/PSU on the right side.

Dimentions

Depth = 267mm
GPU Founders Edition = 267mm
MB (170mm) + PSU (82mm) = 252mm

Height = 175mm
MB (170mm) + PCIe extender (5mm)

Width = 86mm
MB/PSU (41-44mm) + GPU (40mm) + space between MB and GPU (2-5mm)

Volume: 3.99L (maybe a little more)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Dan Case is 7.2 liters, having trouble to imagine how you gona save those 3.3 liters.

Ok, I'll try to explain without drawing.

Depth = 267mm

Dan's depth is 317mm because he use:
- SFX PSU (125mm of depth)
- Mini-ITX MB (170mm of depth)
- SSD under front panel (15+mm of depth)

I will use:
- Mini-ITX MB (170mm of depth)
- FlexATX 1U PSU (82mm of depth)
- no SSD (0mm)
252mm in total. The longest component will be GPU - 267mm

Height = 175mm

Dan's height is 200mm because he use:
- Mini-ITX MB (170mm of height)
- Space on the top for PCI Extender (~10-15mm of height)
- Space on the bottom for SSD (~10-15mm of height)

I will use:
- Mini-ITX MB (170mm of height)
- Space on the top for PCI Extender (5mm of height)
- no SSD (0mm)

Width = 86mm

Dan's width is 112mm because he use:
- SFX PSU (64mm of width) and MB + 47mm CPU Cooler (64mm of width)
- GPU (40mm of width)
- Space between PSU and GPU (8mm of width)

I will use:
- FlexATX 1U PSU (41mm of height) and MB + 27mm CPU Cooler (44mm of width)
- GPU (40mm of width)
- Space between PSU and GPU (5mm of width)

I think that the closest in size project to this would be the Hutzy XS.

From the drawings I can see that You haven't included enough clearances for both the riser being bent next to the motherboard and cables coming out from power supply on both sides.

I wouldn't trade take this setup over something like A4-SFX though since this is going to be seriously loud with FlexATX psu fan being pretty much up front and low profile cpu cooler.

I agree with you, A4-SFX is more universal. My project for crazy SFF-fanatics :)

Athena FlexATX 500W is not very loud with small load (200-300W).
GTX 1080 TDP = 180W, 6700/7700 TDP = 65W

More clearance for riser - agree

More clearance for cables - disagree
But PSU needs some customisations:
- cut off unused cables
- shorten used cables

Every time I see a SFF post I always say "there's no way!", but each time it actually happens. So, good luck to you and I hope you keep us updated with the progress!

At first, you have to add the outer material to the volume. If you bend the material on the sides to get more stability you can use 1,5mm. If not you need 2-3mm. This will add 4-6mm to every dimension.

Height: Only possible if you route the PSU calbe under the case and your case have no bends on the top and buttom side. Also only 25mm for bending the cable tree is not mutch.

Length: You need clearance for the GPU, otherwise it will be impossible to move the GPU inside.

Width: You need some space between GPU screw cutout to GPU to bend the metal min. 3mm. You don't calculate the motherboard tray with 1.5mm, from the MB tray to the top of the cutout with 7mm MB stand offs you need 49mm (with 5mm stand offs you can't mount a M.2 SSD on the backside). You need some space over the cutout to bend the metal min. 5-8mm. (So min. width is: 103,5mm)

Dondan, thanks for detailed comments. I think that the best option to buy your case :)

Or if you really want smaller but only itx gfx, wait for hutzy.

But Dan's available almost right now and i will be a proud owner of one. (y)
