Hello,I'm new to the board so I hope this is the right place to post this ..

I have recently purchased the Fujitsu HandyDrive Data Edition 40GB which is a USB 2.0 Storage Device. When At Home Windows XP , the device is identified by the O.S. but at the lab of the local university (where Win 98 are running) the computer fails to load drivers from the internet in order to run my device. What Should I do? Should I be as bold as to ask the management of the lab how to solve my problem or is there an easier path(more seductive)?

Sure, why not? Do they have a policy against outside disks? (Floppy, CD, external HDD's) Some labs prohibit the use of outside media to try and curb virusii.

Although, the worst they could do is tell you, "no" :D

That's o.k. I think I have solved my problem , I installed the necessary driver from the cd and it's all fine.
Thanks for your guidance anyway.
