Would you pay $275 (before a $50 MIR) for this camera, with no accessories? I figured after a 256MB xD card and a case (already have a tripod), it'd come out to around $325. I'm starting to get into photography, and have been using my mom's beat up Canon A70. I've been asked to "document" our science team throughout the year, so I wanted to pick up something with a little more oomph. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hello Scooter,
I would recommend the camera without hesitation. It has a powerful zoom, a sharp focus, and great feel and look. I have quite an entire gallery on my site with pictures taken from this camera and a kodak for comparison. So you can take a look for yourself and be the judge. For that kind of money the only other camer close feature wise is the Canon is2, they have just released the is3, dont know that much about is3. I went for the Fuji as I felt it was superior to the is2, but up to you and your needs.
See the gallery http://www.digitalpetulance.com/Gallery
click Photography. 99% of my shots are without flash, thats something the Cannon isn't as good as compare to this Fuji.
