Ok, this is probably one of the noobiest questions you've heard, but hear me out. :p

Is there some secret to taking pictures of your computer? I am seeing all the great pics of people showing off their lights and mods, but when I take one, I can only see the lights and nothing else. So is there some way that I can make a better picture so I can better show off my computer, lighting, etc?

I am using a Finepix A201. I know its a crap camera, but its what I'm using.

Thanks. :)

Use a longer exposure with a tripod or something sturdy to put the camera on.

Yes, I know all about photography; rule of thirds, exposure, composition, etc. But I need someone with digital camera experence, especially with mine. Like, how do you make a longer esposure on my camera?

You can't, that is a point and shoot automatic camera. At the very least you need something like a Canon A60 that will allow you to control the exposure.

but when I take one, I can only see the lights and nothing else.

Do you have a sample pic?

Yes, here's one.

In the Show off your best pics! thread I don't know the 20 something pictures on the last page load just fine for me. Not to mention I've been browsing in internet explorer for the past 2 hours and everything is loading perfectly.

Your link however just continues to download but it never shows up.

Does it work for anyone else?

Sorry agent, I just read my post over and noticed it sounded a little snotty. I didn't mean to come off that way.

Anyway, yeah, can anyone else see it?

The problem is that your shutter speed is only 1/2 a second. There is simply not enough light getting to your camera's sensor. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of your camera. 1/2 second is the longest that your shutter will stay open, and you can't alter any of the other properties of the camera that will allow you to let more light in.

Sorry man... gotta turn on some lights.
