I was told that my a205 will double as a webcam, and I CANNOT get it to install as one, when I plug it in it just shows up as a disk drive. I download the latest USB drivers for it, and still nothing... any ideas??

Did the camera come with software? I never use webcams but usually if something offers a feature like that they will bundle software with the device so you can use the feature.
 
I installed all the junk that came with it and I do mean JUNK, and it still doesn;t work

I have a FinePix E500 which also double as webcam and I think you need to setup the camera to act as a webcam instead. When it is done then connected to the computer, it will be detected as a webcam instead of a disk.
