I've got an ASUS P5B motherboard here, in perfect condition in the original box, with manual and I/O shield included.

(sorry for the awful picture quality, it was taken on my phone)

I don't need this board anymore, as I upgraded to a Gigabyte P35 board. Looking to trade for either a PCI-E video card or SATA hard disk of comparable value. :)

Hey Mandrake...
I also have this board it came stock with my HP m8125x media center quad 6600 setup... I've heard that the P5B can use 8500 ram unofficially... have you ever tried it? and what bios did you need if you did... im still running 5.09 BIOS and looking to do a little o/c on this board... not sure if im able to upgrade the bios as specifically... I have a P5BW-LA... and must be proprietary HP asus model or something cause I cant find more info on it... chips are all the same so I figure I could overclock it if I had the right bios setup. or at least have it use 8500 stable with no o/c-ing... please let me know your experiences with this board....

Cheers

Thanks

I only ever used DDR2-667 memory with the board. There was an option for DDR2-800, but I don't recall seeing DDR2-1066 support. I don't think that an HP board would support any OCing or exotic memory speeds anyway.

B-B-B-Bump! I'm also after DDR2 in either a 2x 512MB or 2x 1GB configuration and will consider a trade.

So, Just to help anyone out who got the m8125x HP media center:

P5BW-LA is an HP proprietary board does not like OCZ Ram apparently.... I went through many sets when I brought the tower to the store nor patriot brand either.. but when I dropped in 4 gigs of Corsair ( two dual channel kits of 2) 6400 Ram BAM ... right away it worked. Mind you it only recognizes 3.5 of the 4... b/c of 32bit OS... I also tried using 8500 and that did not work... the board just retro adjusted 8500 down to 6400... and the board only runs at 1.8 volts... so watch out what ram you get, cause latency will not be to spec often.

I imagine most of the folks on Hardforum dont go for this type of package setup and build there own... however I figure I should share my troubles and resolutions. As I found HP advisors to be less than perfect.

Another issue is that the socket 775 clips for the cpu are not standard on p5bw-la... making it difficult or impossible to upgrade the heat sink on the Q6600 Kentsfield cpu.. with the small case and long run times.. the chip temps turn out 65 65 64 64... and occasionally first core goes up to 70-71 degrees C... thats too hot... I replaced the cheapo stock back fan cause it wasnt pushing the CFM it should be.. thats helped alot...

Now that I have 4 gigs in ... I can easily play HellGate London in DX10 and not lagg online... my previous 2gigs of 5300 choked on the game frequently. Using HIS Radeon 2600 XT 512 GDDR3 Graphics Card.. Anyone want to buy the Nvidia 7350 one that came stock? its HD output ...
I've now learnt enough to build by own rig... since august 07, If I could go back... I'd do a few things differently..
Cheers hope this helps someone!

ok, "SpeedyQuad", and "bl00d87" get your own thread. this is a thread for the OP to sell his mobo, not for you guys to sell your stuff or ask about unrelated sales...
