Hello.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with FSP psu's?

I am looking at the Everest Series 900W and the Everest Series 1010W.

I havent seen any [H] reviews of FSP, and I am kind of reluctant to trust any other reviews besides [H].

Thanx for any info.

No problem man. The newer FSP Epsilon line and the units based on it above ~500w get really messy...and they have a step derating curve. Unless you are looking below 500W I would consider some of the other units we have reviewed in your desired range.
 
Yeah.
The only psu I would want based on the reviews is the CM 1250w, which cant be found right now.

I would love to get a Ultra, but I dont like my rails dipping so much (they start off low even), but their modular design cant be beat by any other mfr imo. Also, their 3.3 is always lower than anyone elses ( 24a ? ).

What psu would you recommend fitting this criteria:
Modular
30a on 3.3
Stays above rails (ie: 3.3 is 3.3 or a little above no matter what load, same with other rails)
Low ripple/noice
Runs cool (I dont care about noise)

A lot of the reviewed psu's have 1, or 2, or 3 of the criteria, but none have them all, except the CM 1250 (altho the modular design falls well short of ultra).

(water cooling setup not in, runs off of 12v, 2x120mm fans)
various usb devices (hdd, thumb drive, ipod, etc) not hooked up all the time

Oh yeah, I will be adding another hdd, probably 500-750gb.
 
One question real quick why do you need a 30A 3.3v rail?

As for the set point of the rails in relation to their nominal values that is goingto vary from unit to unit not just model to model.
 
Well, I thought the vid cards used 3.3 (as well as 12v), plus some other mobo components do, and of course the 4gb of memory.
I like to go way above what is really needed, counting for OC'ing and psu not outputting at its rated value when it gets hot.

Is my thinking wrong here?
 
In this day and age it is basically down to the memory on the 3.3v rail. Most power supplies are way over speced in the 5v/3.3v department for the majorioty of users which is why I load the untis the way I do during the load testing. I wouldn't worry about the 3.3v capacity in your situation.
 
So, for the specs I posted above, do you think an Ultra 800 watt would do the trick then? Or the 1k?

My current psu (original ocz powerstream 600w), when I had my water cooling and 2 7800gtx's in, the 3.3 and 12v rails would fluctuate pretty badly (3.3v(28a), 5V(46A), +12V1(20A), +12V2(18A) .
I want to put the water cooling back in, and add another hdd, and another 8800gt.

thats why I wanted the higher total everything, to keep the rails from jumping around.
 
I try and keep from directly recommending power supplies these days because I don't want people to get any ideas that I favor one or another. So I will answer your question like this. Any of the 750w or 800w units we have reviewed and given an award too will power your system with ease. :cool:
