FSFT - How To Close Thread

Just curious about how to close a thread? The rules state we can, but I don't see an obvious way to do it.

Three ways that I use.

1 - in the thread, at the top, is 'thread tools'. Click that and uncheck 'open'.
2 - when you are looking at the thread in the list of other threads you can see a little 'edit' button to the far right of the name. Click that and uncheck 'open'.
3 - in the thread go to the bottom where the reply box is.. click 'more options' and uncheck 'open'.
 
Then maybe I was thinking of it wrong... Closing a thread does not delete a thread?
