I'd swear some of my games look smoother when I overclock my fsb from 280 to 350 or even from 306 to 350. I have everything at it's max on the 280/306 fsb. Ram running at 240mhz at 2.5/3/2/5 cpu running at ~2700-2850 mhz but yet it seems that running the fsb at 350 with ram running a crappy ~175 mhz and crummy 3/3/3/6 timings + cpu running only 2468 mhz that I get more fps. Does increasing the fsb improve game performance despite having lower cpu+memory mhz & timing?

It really depends, OC your fsb will allow you to process more information = faster game play depending on the amount of cpu needed to run the game. It’s mainly going to come down to your video card. The ram timings will not affect performance that much.
