unfortunately, i've got a locked 2500+ barton so the only way i could overclock it is by raising the fsb. right now i'm running at 200x11 which gives me a 3200+. i would still like to push my fsb to 210 to 220 but my question is how will it affect my memory since it wont be synchronous anymore. should i raise its voltage?
any help will be greatly appreciated

For future refrence..... give us info... like what ram

Im guessin you have pc 3200, since it runs 400 mhz and you dont have a problem with that

If you increased the voltages to 2.8v your ram will most likly overclock to 420 mhz. If your lucky you can run a 220 fsb, and your ram may overclock to 440.

I know my ram with stock timings at 2.8v's will over clock 13 mhz.... and my ram blows for overclocking... so inless you have generic, Kingston, OCZ(sobb),Corsair and defently mushkin will overclock 20 mhz....... and maybe even 40... just keep trying if you hit 210, try 215, then 220 dont go from 210 to 220.

sorry dude:D my ram is a geil pc3200. the voltage om my board indicates it at default, so what is the value of that default so i could raise it by increments. also is this ram good enough. thanks

Well that ram should take up to 2.9v

but put 2.8 into them and try 210.... if it boots(stable)... try 215..boots(stable)...........try 220 see if its stable. bingo your at your goal.

I doubt that your ram will clock sync with 225 or 230 fsb.....

thanks man. another question though, since im running at 200fsb, should i go straight to 210 or should i go to 205 first?
