i was wondering can Intel P4 C' 800FSB CPUs are able to run at their full speed (i.e 2.6 or 2.8ghz ) on a 533FSB motherboard?

Thanks

If the mobo supports only 133 Mhz FSB and not the newer 200 Mhz, then no.

In fact, if you run a 'C' revision chip in a mobo that only supports 533 Mhz tops, the chip will run slower than, say, a 'B' revision rated at the same speed, since they use lower multipliers.

For example:

Pentium 4 2.4B uses an 18x multiplier (I think), so 133 x 18 is roughly 2400 Mhz.

Pentium 4 2.4C uses a 12x multipler, and 12 x 133 Mhz is only 1600 Mhz.
