These make great "docks" for laptops with thunderbolt 3 ports. Plug in your laptop with integrated graphics and it instantly become a gaming system. My college student uses this with a 13" xps i7 (8th generation). It provides connectivity and true gaming capabilities (5700xt) when docked but the portability of an ultra light laptop. My high schooler uses one with a gtx 970 and it makes a massive difference in games.

Check egpu.io for laptops that work well with and egpu and to check how your laptop works with the egpu. Some laptop displays work well when powered by the egpu while others do better with an external display.

Regardless, this is a solid deal. If I hadn't just bought one (I now have an Akito, Core X and Core X Chroma), I would be all over this. Even a crappy graphics card is better than integrated garbage.
