I'm selling a retail Opteron 146. It comes in the green retail package, complete with the unused stock heatsink/fan and documentation. Stepping is CAB2E 0540FPMW. This is generally considered a high-second-tier stepping -- it's usually capable of 2.95-3.00GHz, which is exactly where this particular chip tops out.
The chip is currently naked. The process netted a 3-4C temp reduction, but overclocking figures stayed the same. If you like, I will replace the IHS for you using some AS5.
Chip:
2.95GHz at only 1.45V:
3GHz at 1.55V:
Please note that these results were obtained with relatively good water-cooling. On air, my guess is you're looking at 2.85-2.9GHz, considering that most people hit 2.8 or higher at stock volts with this stepping.
Price is $175 shipped within the US. As a sweetener, I'll throw in one of the games I've got lying around. Pick from Knights of the Old Republic, Thief: Deadly Shadows, OR Call of Duty + COD: United Offensive.
My heat.
As always, bumps are appreciated and requests for information will be accommodated.
