What does this afford me? The ability to purchase the phone? How much is the phone? Do you have one yourself? Would you recommend it?

A1: This is an invite to purchase the phone.
A2: The prices for the 2 models of phone are; 16GB @ $299 and 64GB @ $349
A3: It's one of the top phones on the market at the moment spec wise. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/OnePlus-One_id8603

Here is a comparison of the OnePlus One vs the LG G3 and the Samsung Galaxy S5

And another comparison of the OnePlus One vs the HTC One (M8) and the Oppo Find 7

Whether I can recommend it or not, I can't really say. It's relatively new, highly exclusive right now as the invites have been scarce generally. Spec wise, it looks great. I've heard the build quality is also great. The phone does not work on Sprint (I know that much). If you want to buy a phone out right and not have to pay monthly or spend $600-800 on any of the other models in the comparisons, then the OnePlus One is an excellent option. The only phone that is comparable price wise, is the Motorola X, however spec wise, the moto x does not really compare to the OnePlus One.

Lastly, you get Cyanogenmods Cyanogen 11 Operating system on the phone. Should ideally be fast updates and easy to customize the phone to your liking due to it being a much less bloated version of Android (without all of the carrier and brand applications preloaded).

What he said ^^^^ Thanks Shepscrook

I did have one and I loved it. The reason I sold it was because I thought I was out of contract and was eligible for an upgrade. So I sold the OnePlus One, went to the AT&T store thinking I could buy an LG G3 for $99 and pocket the additional money that I had spent on One. Turns out, I wasn't eligible for several more months
