DS413 is a bit more powerful if you are going to run services on the NAS, which has a huge repository of stuff.

  • faster processor (dual core 1.0 vs single core 1.6)
  • 1GB of ram vs 512MB
  • hot swappable drives
  • USB 3.0 ports - can be shared over network for extra storage.
  • read/write is a bit faster as well
