Going to get some cheaper memory for my 4p box which isn't overclocking much. Got a bad batch of 6166he which has a low max vcore. All the memory below has been memtested with zero errors.

New 16 sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 2GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 - $390 OBO

New 4 sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 8GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 - $340 OBO

Sorry about that. Posted late last night after a frustrating session with my mb not posting. Updated with prices.

I am curious, how are you setting your voltages?

Use voltcheck to see the voltage ranges of your chips. Set your voltage for all 4 chips to the highest of the lowest chip.
horde@fah6:~$ sudo ./voltcheck
[sudo] password for horde:
CPU1 (min/avg/max): 1284/1289.4/1292 mV
CPU2 (min/avg/max): 1228/1229.2/1232 mV
CPU3 (min/avg/max): 1244/1245.8/1246 mV
CPU4 (min/avg/max): 1298/1299.2/1300 mV
horde@fah6:~$

So, we would set all chips to run at 1232 and then proceed with overclocking.

Also, you will more than likely never run at 1600, however, having the "faster" ram may provide a better cas level at the lower speed, which will help on MC chips. Do target the ram to run at 1333 at a minimum.

you will need to do the following to set vcore:
sudo tpc -set vcore x.xxx
sudo tpc -fo 1
sudo tpc -fo 0

If you have questions on setting volts, make a thread in the general DC area, keep this thread on topic for the sale please.

Can you post a link of the RAM you have so that we can refer to the exact model number?
At least for your 8GB RAM, there seems to be a few different variations (some come with external fans, some don't) and prices range. Thanks
