The item is Brand New and still sealed.

I'm not sure if it's backwards compatible. It doesn't really say much on the outside of the box. It's mostly promotional labels and the contents.
 
the 80gb may or may not have software emulation for BC.

model number starting with CECHE is 2nd gen with limited software-based emulation.
model numbers starting with CECHK, CECHL, or CECHM are 3rd gen with no BC.

may want to check and see, because if this has BC, I'm sure it will get sold much much quicker ;)

edit: you can also tell by the number of USB ports. 4 USB & card reader = 2nd gen = software-based BC. 2 USB = 3rd gen = no BC
 
I just grabbed a PS3 Slim 120GB for $300CDN with MW2, and an extra controller off of Kijiji. You might want to drop the price.
