What kind of sources do you use the card for?
Why do you say only when used with Premiere though (just interested).
We capture from an Xbox 360 or PS3 using HDMI, 720p uncompressed works fantastic... looks exactly like the original source... brilliant!
The included software is kinda meh... although it DOES work. We had all sorts of configuration troubles getting it to playback anywhere other than their software, and after using up the trial on Pr without having any of the above problems we decided it was a needed addition to the hardware.
