dont mean to hijack at all, but how well does that NB cooler work out for ya? im lookin to replace that crappy fan ASUS gives u. i got the same board and had to replace it twice
 
No problem Dan. The Asus heatsink/fan is crap. The initial boards failed because of poor Northbridge heat dissipation.

When I got this board and saw how high the NB temps were and how freakin' loud the fan was I looked into a passive cooler and everyone recommended the Zalman.

After swapping them out my NB temp dropped about 8c and the computer was much quieter (no more high-RPM whining noise). I highly recommend the Zalman NB heatsink.
 
thanks for the advice, i just ordered it, now im gonna soon remember why i hated changing that fan
