Woah, nice deal on the Athlon 64 X2. That CPU alone goes for $322 on newegg, Fry's is selling it for $280 with a free motherboard! If I hadn't just upgraded, I would jump at that in a heartbeat.
 
what does HDTV projection mean? whats the difference between that and a regular HD read lcd?

It's not a flap pannel... just a flat screen with image projected from the back
 
other than the size, is there any difference between the 2? Like image quality/lifespan etc?

Yes, it is considering they usually run @ $300+

But how much do you think I could sell the ECS mobo and my 3000+ venice for?
 
cheap LCDs... but no brand.. have to wait to see what they're like instore!
 
I'm tempted by the monitors. I usually only go to fry's for components so do they store their monitors in their cage too or do you just pick one up? And same goes for their built systems too. Do you just get a ticket or do you pick up the physical computer?
 
Yeah that Dual core pro is a awsome deal, Im gunna be all over it come 5am........does anyone know if this is just for there actual stores or does it apply to online purchases?

Frys does lock up their LCD's but being that it is BF I dont know if they will.. Computers are also locked up.. but the cheap ones are usually on the floor whatever doesnt fit on the floor is kept in the back. You will be able to walk away with the cheap LCD's as well as the built PC's.

Frys takes it up the ass on BF, I worked there at the Phoenix location last BF, the store did 1.4million in sales with -2% profit. But I made $300 comission that day(open to close). Not too bad, I worked in the components department (where you would buy the ECS combos) and it was my job to talk people out of the ECS combos (if possible). Frys will have an "instore upgrade" to the $280 combo.. usually same CPU but a better board (for a bit more).. the salesman you talk to will tell you about it.
 
Tax kills what may seem like a good deal usually. I would rather spend 10 extra bucks and get an X2 online then go to Frys and wait 8 hours. That motherboard might as well not even be in the deal, probably be able to sell it for 75 cents.
 
LOL...you'd think that stores would advertise the 360 for BF..but no...M$ had to screw us over :rolleyes:
 
OMG great! I work for Fry's and I have to go in tomorrow @4:30am. I'll have to prepare myself for the massive dual core sales going on. Just a note though, we have at LEAST 30x, yes I said THIRTY times more ECS boards than ANY other board in our store.....coincidence? I think not...

Looks like you can grab a free HDD AR too. Not too shabby. If only it wasn't an hour and a half drive to the nearest one.
 
I was going to camp Frys for the X2... but I figured I would just wait until after the holidays or something to pick one up... Im sure the prices will go down. The only really other good deal Ive seen for BF was a big LCD tv from Bestbuy for like 500 bucks.
 
Wish they would have some good sales on PDA's i'd like to pick up the Palm TX for alittle bit less the reg pricing.

they had Antec Sonata for $30 after rebate. Almost got one but I already have a brand new case still sitting in the box for several months
