Total Savings 74.99-Tax in your Area =339.98 Newegg Price-264.99-Tax in your area
If you do a mail in rebate total savings increases to 89.99-Tax in your area
Now tigerdirect recently did a big mail in rebate and bing cash back on the 1055t (they are currently sold out. So if you got on that deal and bought the motherboard on newegg, the total would be 199.99+129.99-50 MIR-24.59 (Tiger 12.3% cash back)=255.39 after rebates and tiger's bing cash back. Effectively making this the same price in store as online, and you could choose the motherboard online. That said the tigerdirect deal is dead.

This board unlocks according to a reviewer, and it has the right southbridge. The processor is also a model that in theory could unlock.

Micro ATX
760g board, 710 southbridge. Note this board can't do HD video
This board also supports the new AMD x6 processors so there is upgrade potential
2 memory slots that support up to 8gb of ddr2 memory with a mac oc of 1200mhz
1 PCI Express 2.0 x16
1 PCI Express x1
2 PCI Slots
4 sata 3.0 gbp/s

Savings is $62.98 minus your local sales tax=$152.97 Newegg Price-$89.99 Fry's In Store Price
If you do a mail in rebate the savings is $62.98 (since both online and frys in store has a $10 mail in rebate)

i must thank you for taking the time to post these. Thanks! :D

I like the single thread format, btw. ;)

how does the 9500gt or the gt240 stack up as physX cards?
With physX the thing to care about is shader power, you want the most possible but at least 64 since batman aa. The 9500gt stinks for it only has 32 shaders, the gt240 is the best physx card out their under the 9800gt for the gt240 has 96 shaders and the 9800gt has 112 shaders.

The gt240 is a great physx and folding card

The gt240 is a good casual gaming card about the speed of a 4670. Sometimes it is faster than the 9600gt more times it is slower but the same league. The gt240 has 50% more shader cores than the 9600gt and is 27% faster at shading once you figure in the core frequency, bandwidth they are the same. But due to only having 8 rops on the 240 vs 16 on the 9600gt the gt240 underperforms due to not being to fill all those textures. On screen fast enough.

The problem with reading Frys B&M deals on the internets is that each store puts out their own ad.

Often items are the same but some are not. They seem to sometimes leapfrog (one week a set of stores will have x MB/CPU combo and then the next week another set will have the same one (but the deal will have expired for the first set))

In SoCal, we typically see the same deals as NorCal and Texas -- and with in-store pickup options on the website, you can see if the local store has it or not. The combos are now being added to the website as well.

Yes each ad is different. But usually they are differences by a district basis, and the ad is usually the same 98% of the time. Furthermore there seems to be less differences recently than the previous 2 years.

That said you can view the LA, San Jose, and Dallas papers easily online. I usually post the dallas paper for I like their website and it is a closer store to the one I actually work at. (I wake up a couple hours prior to my shift on friday for I am not a morning person and I need that time to actually be mentally awake. I usually do things in the morning, but one of the things I do is look at the dallas ad for my ad is similar enough. Note I don't work in the components department, but since I am geeky and love building I do pay attention on what the components department has on special.)

This is what I personally got today (upgrading a 15.4 macbook pro memory and hard drive space. The model is pre unbiody model number is MA896LL)

Currently the memory seems to be about going price instore. But with the rebate it is a very good price. (hopefully i get around to doing the rebate.) Most places are charging $85 or more for the hard drive.

Wish me luck guys. I am relaxing for a few minutes, before tearing up my old macbook pro. That computer is a virgin, it has never had anybody look "under" its hood.

My macbook pro is fine with a new harddrive and 4gb of memory (though in windows7 I get less memory for I am using 64bit). Still installing all the software though.

Processor is a 3.2ghz dual core with hyper threading and a max turbo boost of 3.46 ghz

Micro ATX
HDMI, DVI, and VGA output and this processor/integrated video is fast enough to decode hd no problem.
4 ddr3 memory slots supports up to 16gb max memory oc of 2133
6 sata 3.0gbp/s ports
1 ide

1 PCI Express 2.0 x16
1 PCI Express x1
2 PCI Slots

The i5-750 is a better chip for speed. The i5-650 supports vt-d, has a good integrated graphics, and better thermals. In other words get the 750 for gaming and the 650 for an office, some specific virtual machine tasks, or a small form factor pc (the board is great for a small form factor case)
