FrozenCPU and my Megashadow

I pre-ordered a new 1156 compatible Prolimatech Meagshadow from FrozenCPU. When I received the package, I found that the Megashadow is nowhere close to being black and the finish really looked like some kind of bad "varnish" job and was all splotched. At $80 I was a bit ticked that not only did the heatsink not look like the photos Prolimatech provided, but the finish was totally crap.

I called FrozenCPU and they bent over backwards to make me happy, even though they have nothing to do with Prolimatech's quality control or misleading photos. Within 24 hours, not only had they changed the item's description to better represent the product, they did everything in their power to make it right with me.

I was totally impressed with FrozenCPU, and instead of being pissed, sitting with a high dollar cooler that looked like ass, I ended up being happy and relieved.

What a difference a decent company makes these days...
 
so what else did they do exactly to 'make it right' with you ?

i was kind of disappointed at the same thing when i got my black TRUE 120.. wasn't even remotely black lol.

i do like frozen cpu aswell, ive spent a fair bit there.
 
They asked me what they could do to make me happy and I told them. They agreed to my request and even offered a better option solution if I needed it. I haven't decided which way I want to go yet, but either way, it's kickass customer service.

Since my post, they actually called again and explained to me that the megashadows are displaying oxidation on the finish, which Prolimatech changed plates to keep from happening on the megahalems units, but apparently not on the shadows.

I can imagine the things are going to look like tarnished silver pretty soon which ain't gonna look pretty in those "show your pc" photos.:(
