Freezing it didn't work even though I wanted it to work so badly... so I popped it back in the freezer thinking it might work tomarrow, either way, it stopped clicking when I shook the drive, however, BIOS never discovered it either way....

would replacing the circuit board on the bottom help any more if I just flashed the verison of my advanced RMA to the potentially dead drive and replaced the board? or is freezing it the last resort?

If you have data that's really worth getting back, you could try a data recovery company or something. Some of them usually have a policy where they don't charge if they can't recover. . .

Freezing is a sometimes solution for a drive with stuck platters that won’t spin. Additionally so is a gentle tap with a plastic or rubber mallet. First try the “tap” on the bottom center bearing to see if you can get it to spin, failing that try a tap on each of the four corners and try again.

If the platters are spinning freezing or tapping won’t help.

A word on sending out for data recovery, you better need the data really badly as that is an amazing way to spend a lot of money really really fast.

I don't need it that bad, I'm just wondering if going to the trouble of replacing the hd circuit board would be worth it in trying to recover the data
