Front panel headphone & mic jacks with Audigy2?

Is there a clean way to hook up the front panel headphone & mic jack on my case (a P150, but they're all the same) to any of the Audigy2 cards, so that it operates like the onboard sound does, you know, speakers normally, unless headphones are plugged in? Actually, the mic is easy, as I can just run an extension from the mic jack to inside..and only ever use the front port. I have an Audiigy2 value and it looks like it can't be done, but I'd sell it for a different one so I wouldn't have to keep feeling around blind behind the computer to unplug speakers and plug in head phones, as I use either one often. Any suggestions?
 
I'm going to bump this because I'm having the same challenge. Did the OP find a solution without buying a new sound card?

For the record, I have an Antec Super Lanboy case.
