Front Panel Connection Problem

I'm trying to figure out how to hookup my front headphone/mike jacks.
The cables from the front panel are marked as follows:
Hpout R
Hpout -R
Hpout L
Hpout -L
Ground
Mic Gnd
Mic Power
Mic IN

The pins on the MotherBoared (Asus M3A 32 Deluxe) are marked as follows:
Mic2
MicPower
AGND
Lineout _R
Lineout_L
NC
NC
NC
NC

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Funny thing--I'm actually dealing with a very similar issue right now on a different motherboard (Biostar TF7025-M2). A little research reveals that Intel and the motherboard manufacturers decided to use the exact same motherboard header (even with the same key!), but reassigned what signals go where, and didn't bother to tell the case manufacturers. So a little modding is in order.

First, make sure that you go into your BIOS and set the "Front Panel Support Type" to AC97. Next, you'll need to short-circuit the three NC pins that are opposite Lineout_R, Lineout_L, and MicPower to AGND. Take some fine-stranded copper wire (out of a floppy drive cable works well) and weave it among the four pins on that side of the header. Now, connect HpoutR to Lineout_R and Hpout-R to the pin opposite, HpoutL to Lineout_L and HpoutL to the pin opposite, Ground to AGND, Mic Power to MicPower, Mic IN to Mic2, and MicGnd to the pin opposite.
