Okay, so I know there are probably a lot of threads about this, but...

I recently bought myself a new case which has, among other things, front panel audio...

I currently use a SB Live! Value sound card (I know I know :( ) and I have a Soltek motherboard with onboard sound.

My question: can I get the front panel audio to work with just these three things? (Using the SB for sound since the onboard sounds like ass)....there are 6 connectors similar to what you connect HDD lights, power switch etc. to the mobo with. I have heard that SB cards do not even HAVE these connectors and was worried about just that... so what's the story, folks? am I outta luck?

Your motherboard will have the front panel audio connections.

The SoundBlaster will not. Creative doesn't believe in using open standards - their headers on the card (if present) will only work with Creative's Live Drive system.

so basically I have to use onboard sound for that?

man, creative has really been pissing me off lately...
