I helped my girlfriend buy a desktop over Craigslist and when we got it back to her place I noticed that the headphone jack on the front didn't worked. I popped open the case and saw that neither the AC97 or HDA connectors going from the front were connected. The computer has a Create Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro (SB0550) but I don't see anywhere to connect the cable. The motherboard is an ASUS P5E but again, I don't see anywhere to connect to.

I realize that the front audio connector isn't ideal for various reason but until we can get some speakers, that's the only place her headphones will reach. Thanks in advance for any tips.


*EDIT*

Did some more research and it looks like the reason the board doesn't have an AAFP header (only ADH) is that it came with a sound card with an AAFP header. For whatever reason the previous owners didn't install it and kept this sound card instead so it looks like we're out of luck.

Well, looks like I screwed up the audio. I took out the sound card to get a better look at it and noticed a lot of the "cylinders" sticking up on the card were bent so, being the expert that I am, I tried to straighten them out. The next time I booted up I got an error saying that no sound device was detected. I tried downloading the most recent drivers for the card and it said the hardware wasn't detected. I then opened up the computer and made sure the card was properly seated. Booted up again and got the same message. Go me. Looks like someone will be making some money off of me on FS/FT now.
