Front end/Title ???

OK, I'm up and running, partly. Here's my problem. I ripped a bunch of my DVD's, probably 20 or so, to my hard drive. I opened xmbc(or any other front end for that matter) and updated to library. 2/3's of the films come out with the tittle as "video kings" with no other information. WTF. Now I have to watch each one to figure out what it is, rename it, and then research it, to get the correct title etc. Anyone else ever have this happen???

I follow the IMDB naming scheme. Most programs pull metadata from there.

Title (year)

Yeah, when I burned them I named the file after the movie. Then when I open up xbmc, I have the library set up to automatically scan new files. I would think by now someone could come up with a program that would take the file name and look up all the info/album art/etc. without having to do it manually or screwing everything up

I switched over to MediaBrowser and it does a perfect job. You may want to give it a try. For titles that do not load properly, you can use MetaBrowser. You'll probably have to name your files properly first, and delete any hidden files and metadata that XBMC screwed up.

There is a setting in XBMC to force it to search for movies purely based on folder name rather than scanning the files inside.
