I have played with SLi a couple times and it is nice. But I am pondering Crossfire via the cheapest route.

I realize that you have to have the actual Crossfire edition X850XT. But Can I use my Visontek X850XT that I already have for the 2nd card?

Errrrr I think you have to have the "Crossfire Ready" X850XT to work with a "Crossfire Edition" X850XT. I am not exactly sure now,,,, I just confused myself.

No. You just have to have a Crossfire Edition Mastercard. His X850 XT will be just fine.

All X850XTs are crossfire ready... unless they're AGP, of course. :p

Yes, you can pair any X850XT with a master card. The only requirement for CF is a master, there is no real designated "slave card".
