So Razor, who I have never bought anything from, announced a new set of products at CES.

Razor Forge TV is 2 things. An android gaming box, which noone really wants, and get this, a PC Gaming streaming device.

So if I understand how it works because technical details are sketchy, This hooks to your HDTV, comes with its own controller ($150) and allows you to stream supposedly lag free from your gaming PC. I think we can safely assume it wont do 4k but there are still a ton of Steam games that I would like to experience on a bigger screen.

Sweetening the pot, Razor announced a new keyboard and mouse that enables genuine PC controls from a "couch potato" perspective. This is intriguing also.

If this can do game streaming well for $150 you bet your ass I am in. Forget Steam boxes.

If you have at least an 802.11g wireless network there should be no issue streaming 4k games if the software has a bitrate that supports it.

I've had a pretty flawless experience using Steam's In-Home Streaming at both 1080p and 1440p so far. It will be nice to have something like a Chromecast for gaming, though, so you won't have to plug another computer/laptop/other device that Steam can run on into your TV.

Razer's quality has always been questionable, though...

Heh, I was going to say that in the OP, but I know they have their fanbois lurking about in [H].

BUT, I am ashamed to admit that I have not tried Steam In-Home Streaming yet. Maybe this weekend I will get that going. Sounds like fun. I am not sure how I missed the boat on that one.

I'm just waiting for an official Steam streaming android app so we can just start to buy whatever cheap android boxes we want. Amazon's FireTV is only $99 and does have an "official" 3rd party Limelight app. Official meaning you don't have to sideload it, but its not affiliated with nvidia. It works pretty well with a 360 controller.

The steam in-home streaming works surprisingly well. Much better than I was expecting.

Maybe my router is just garbage, but unless I'm right next to my wireless spot I can't stream anything via Steam.

Could be my router though.
