Friend wants to buy a gaming laptop, $1500 budget (can go higher for tax, etc)

pretty much the exact specs I have, and I can run any game I throw at it with some eye candy.

Another one worth a look is the HP dv4000 / Compaq v4000T, with the x700 graphics.

Better portability with the 15.4" form factor for the HP product than the above Dell. If portability is important to you, the bulk of a 17"-er is too much for my needs...
