I just finished building my friend a pc, and when I went to turn it on, the monitor stated " RGB no input signal".
The specs are as follows:

Asus P5B motherboard
1 stick of Patriot eXtreme Performance 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 RAM
250 GB Western Digital SATA HD
PCI-E Evga 7600 GT KO
Intel E6400 processor
and a Viewsonic Q7B3 Black 17" 8ms LCD Monitor 300 cd

When I turn it on it is just black. No beeps, but all the fans and LED lights in the case turn on just perfectly.
I have tried switching output ports on the graphics card, changing the output converter (this LCD is not DVI) and I've even cleared the CMOS.

I really don't know what is causing this, since there are no real symptoms I can deal with except for "no signal input."

Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Unplug everything but processor, memory, graphics card, and power supply then try again. Also reseat the video card and the memory and ensure all fans are plugged into the mobo. If that doesn't do anything try another video card if one is available.

I had the same problem with my recent Conroe build (actually my first and only build). It turned out that one of my sticks of ram was bad (I had two 1 GB sticks). I would try that first if you have any other compatible ram laying around.

Well, I tried unplugging everything unneccsary, and tried swapping out his video card for mine, and nothing has worked. I don't know how I will be able to test the ram, since I dont have DDR-2, and none of my friends have it yet either. I'll try to get a cheap stick somewhere, but in the meantime are there any other ideas?

Maybe reset the CMOS and or take the CMOS battery out for an hour..You should get some kind of beeps from the board. You should get a beep code that should tell you what's wrong, either a processor or ram. Consult your mobo's owners manual. GL
