Hi
I want to buy this "beast" for an Intel QX9770 or QX9650 CPU
How is it?
Does someone here have some experience with it and tell me how good does it cool ?
Not a good choice for a high end quad core. Google the reviews. The temperatures aren't much better than air. The problem is that this thing uses a peltier (TEC) instead of a radiator, which is space-saving but very terribly inefficient for high heatloads.
If you're interested in water cooling you'd be better off with a tradtional watercooling kit. I've only got experience with putting together my own so I have no idea what the watercooling-in-a-box setups are like, or if they are worth owning.
pelteir coolers are great, i have a custom pelteir setup, i use a delta 63cfm 80mm fan on it, and when i keep it actively cooling all the time it keeps my presler @ 3.6 (mild overclock, im power supply limited, probably because of the power the pelteir is sucking, that's the one drawback of pelteir's, they draw ALOT of power when they are actively cooling....
The CoolIT Freezone Elites are good Quad core coolers. Don't be put off buying one because of negative comments by selfbuild watercooling fans who have never owned or used a Freezone Elite or any Coolit TEC unit yet tell beginners there no good and rely on "google the reviews" Please do google the reviews on the Elite and Boras units you will find positive reviews unless a watercooling fanboy is doing the reviewing.
I remember when all in one watercooling kits first came out Corsair and Zalman etc same thing was said in forums about those and look at them now still going strong and performing ok for most computer users. You will never get record breaking results from any of them but you don't want them for that.
All in if your deciding over a coolit Elite or self build watercooling build try to see a Elite unit in person working and get a good look at the figures.Apart from a little bit more electricity used I'm happy with the Elite I have on a 920. Core i7.
