Freezing - Vid Card

Hello. I have a 8800GT EVGA card, Extreme gamer soundcard, core 2 duo 6300, 4 gig ram, 600 watt PSU, and the rest is basically a stock HP machine. The vid card is about 10 months old and worked just fine until recently.


I'm running into my PC freezing during full screen DVD playing and gaming. Its fairly random, but the last few times I've tried playing WOW it freezes within minutes. It also freezes at random times when I'm watching a Netflix movie or something else like that.

It has not frozen during any other applications.

I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and their performance monitoring tools. Temps are running at about 62c right before the freezes.

Many times the freezes will require reboot, although at times after a few minutes the PC will unfreeze, although it will usually freeze up again if I try to continue the movie or whatever.


Any ideas? I post here since it seems to be locking up during vid heavy apps and nothing else, so I'm leaning towards a vid car problem.
