Freezing in Games

In the last day, I've run into a major problem with my computer. It seems to run perfectly while watching videos, listening to music, surfing the web, etc., but as soon as I try to launch a game, ANY game, the game will load up for about 5 or 10 seconds and then the sound will freeze and make an annoying "I'm stuck on this sound-byte" noise, my LCD monitor says "No Signal", and my computer will eventually restart on it's own.

Before I came back from college, my computer was working fine. But as soon as I spent 2 hours in the car with it and hooked it up back home, it is useless for gaming. I was kind of thinking it may be a power supply issue, but I'm not sure how I would even know if it was or not. Would it make sense for it to work perfectly until I tried to run a game? Any other ideas on what's going on? Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks!

I would first make sure that nothing on the inside of your case came unseated. Check the memory and all of the pci cards to make sure they are seated all of the way. Also make sure all of you molex connectors are plugged in as they should be. Maybe of your video card is supposed to have a molex power connector plugged into it, maybe it came unplugged while moving?
I'd start there and see where it gets you.
