I have a couple of comptuers I want to put on another room.. use wireless.... and run linux, freebsd, and and windows.. I' wondering if it is possible to run just one of the computers (ex: the freebsd) and then have several ethernet cards going out of that to the other computers... and then not have to buy more wireless cards?

Any problem with this?.. the freebsd could perhaps serve as a small gateway/server and workstation? (always on...).

Is this too hard to set up?

Do you recoommend any?.. I also have extra routers.. would that work?

Sorry I have no idea what a switch is...

most soho routers have a built in 4 port switch or hub. That's what actually allows you to connect all the stuff to the router. If you have an old router you should be able to use that to connect your pcs. This would be much easier that doing what you describe, but not nearly as much fun. :)

to add to what others have suggested, make sure any routers as switches have dhcp serving turned off
