Not bad. You have to say and spell everything. And can take an additional survey at the end. They claim at the end itll take 8 - 10 weeks to receive the lighter. Just long enough to completely forget about it and be surprised when it shows up.:D
Also dial 1-800-627-5267. It took me a couple tries before I realized if you dial 1-800-MARLBORO youre dialing 1 too many numbers.:confused:
 
Lol. It's kind of funny to think that they require you to be 21 to recieve a lighter. Legally you only have to be 18 to be responsible for your actions, to be an adult. So you can buy a zippo even if your not 21, obviously. So what is the logic there? Maybe the desired demographic has more to do with the age than anything else.
 
It has to do with the legal age to smoke in some states. Jersey is 19 now. I think they say 21 to avoid any problems and not have to have multiple database checks for state and age. And they check your name/dob against public records, so if you have a street with a weird name, your boned. Happened to me at my old address. THey wanted a drivers license/ssn faxed to them.
 
I just did it. I don't smoke, but I like lighters :D (they need some kind of pyro emoticon)

I got a letter from them yesterday that said that from the information I gave, they couldn't prove that I was of smoking age. They wanted me to make a copy of my ID and send it in, with some other information too. I said fuck it. I'd rather just buy a zippo.

They send you a form that you have to fill out to prove your of smoking age. They ask for a copy of your driver's license. You fill that out and send it to them.

i think i will pass on that. i actually kinda collect them. the one that is worn out has my name on it a gift from my wife.
i have about 10 zippo's
most from winston,marlboro and camel.
if your interested in buying those just send me a pm.
 
Got mine today. It doesn't even say Marlboro on it. :)
It's chrome or whatever with brushed sides.
 
Ah bummer, I was hoping for the ones like they had years ago black with the red marboro "logo" top, the black triangle actually stayed on the bottom when the red part flipped up.

Yeah, I was hoping for a red or black one. This one is kinda generic really.

i was in a bar in seattle on travel and they asked for my ID to give me a zippo.... gave it to them and got the zippo and some coupons... the best part I didnt realize until my birthday. Marlboro actually sent me a birthday present. One of those bottle openers that is metal the size of a credit card with an oval to actually open the bottle. It is the best birthday I have ever gotten because it easily fits in my wallet :)

Right after I got it I called them to stop sending me crap. Thx marlboro!
 
Yeah the credit-card sized bottle opener is much better than the crappy one they gave out the year before, but the chili spoon the year before that wasn't bad.
 
Got mine yesterday! Off to Walmart to pick up some extra flints and lighter fluid.
 
Got a freaking letter in the mail that says they couldn't verify my age. Want me to copy my license and mail it back. PITA!
 
got mine! its plain, last time i got one from em it was brass with the guy ridin a horse on the front. none-the-less, its FREE so it dun matter what color or design!
 
Got mine yesterday! Plain Jane Zippo. But a Zippo nonetheless and not some chinese ripoff!:p
