my original sub still works, the one i did with the survey. it does say "retail subscription" now.

the new subs are dead. i think all subs done after the survey are dead. now the big question, can will those keys we got still authenticate?

it will. no reports of peoples subs dying that had their exp date changed to 2010. once you get that extended expiration date it seems like youre set.

I'm getting an error message when I log in. The error message is about system slowness and access being investigated and that they are working to correct the problem. I did participate in the survey. I can still log into the Technet site, but I can't download anything. Can still get keys, though.
 
Seeing as how some accounts were deactivated, anyone still registered want to be "buddies"?
 
Mine also now says its a Retail subscription and has the June 2010 expiration. I did get in pretty early yesterday and did the entire survey and everything is still working as of now. I'm not holding my breath that it will continue to work for those of us who did get extended and converted to retail subs though. Maybe they will let us fly though. Hope so.
 
it might also just be the people who signed up with "UK" addresses.

look here though, my 'disabled' sub might still be good. support says its active and will be available in MINUTES-

Looks like mine went poof - no keys, no downloads... It's a real shame, as I would be all over paying for this, but the current full price is not quite low enough to get the wife to open her purse. :(

Mine looks the same as your spacetrader.

Just got off the phone with support and I was told that he see two fields for expiration date on my account. One is 6/1/2010 and the other is blank and he does not know why and neither does his supervisor. I was told that there is an issue with the activation server that is being worked on and will hopefully be fixed by tomorrow morning.

So it seems TechNet activation is getting hammered at the moment so we will see.

On another note, anyone that is show expiration date of 2010, which emails did you get? The guy on the phone said I should have gotten 2 but I only got 1.
 
two... one for the initial setup and one noting the survey shit was fucked up. if thats what you mean...

i have a feeling there is still server problems. i wouldnt be surprised to see these 'dead' subs come back online.
 
I'm still sitting on an active sub with an exp of 6/1/10. I did the survey thing.

However, I had 2 subs listed before, a US and a UK. The UK one remains and the US one is completely gone.

I got 3 emails total.

First was from Intrepid about MS Terms and Conditions for TechNetPlus
Second is from service@microsoft for TechNet Plus Order Status
Third is the from Intrepid saying "OMFG it went Viral."
 
all i know is, if my now 'retail' sub ends up being the only one that works, im guarding that fukker with guns :D my whole family will be after me for free keys :)
 
Oh great - people are calling and complaining now too. Lets alert as many people at Microsoft as possible so they will hopefully remove all of our subs. I was hoping the manager over 1 are was taking care of things but hey - may as well make sure management in multiple divisions knows about it. :rolleyes: Cardinal rule on hot deal that go viral, NEVER call and complain or ask about why you are not getting in on it when others seem to be.

From what I read, everybody should have received 3 emails:

1) From Intrepid, after qualifying and having completed the survey
2) From Microsoft, confirming enrollment in TechNet and showing order status
3) From Microsoft ITAC, welcoming you to the council

If you got all 3, you ** should ** be good to go.

Yeah, no shit... problem is, a lot of people don't understand such a simple concept.
 
The best part about this deal gone awry? We don't have any money tied up and we have product. Usually we have hundreds od dollars tied up and nothing to show for it for weeks.

I signed up using the US link from ars, and everything is totally gone. All the keys, my subscription info, and the technet website can't pull up any info that I ever had one. :(

I don't even get a link for the $249 price.
 
I really wish they would just do the whole "wow things got out of hand, sorry if you thought this was legit how about a **** discount subscription...like 100-150

well since a fellow hard member was lightning quick on shipping, i have enough parts to build my next pc.

time to see if one of those keys from my 'disabled' sub works :D
 
Well my office 2007 ultimate is still working. I activated it this morning. I haven't gotten around to installing or activating any of the OSes yet. Though I have one installed in a VirtualBox I don't know if I want to activate it in that environment now as it will become permanent to the VM if I do. Real shame I wonder if these keys I got are useless now. Dam I guess those people that generated the max number of keys for everything had the right idea. $350 is too much for me to join IMO but I would pay $100-$150 for a subscription.
 
My second account is completely gone, the one from the direct link.

My original is verified, is retail, and expires 6/1/2010.

6.22 working peachy without activation...regretting not having downloaded Windows 3.11 (have floppies and key still).
