Ok Lets see I got some stuff I have around the house that I don't need that I am willing to give away to you for FREE!

Now this is not a first come first get kind of deal. YOU MUST be folding with at least 5k points(post your badge in a post so I don't have to go find it!!). You also need to tell me why you need what I am giving and promise to give said hardware a good home. If you don't need it don't take it. I want this stuff to go to someone that needs/can use.

and last but not least the goods

I have two switches

one Cisco 1900 series switch

and another switch from netgear model JFS524

and last but nt least a 10 gig harddrive IDE Maxtor

So you know the rules you have seen the goods so let me know why you need it! This is a post from me nothing to do with [H]ocp or KYLE, If you have problems with it pm me not anyone from here. These things will be given away by me at my free will. when I have decided who is getting what you will get a PM from me.

I've already PM'd ya but here goes - Netgear 24 port switchy :D
I would like the Netgear 24 Port Switch of possible.

My plans for this is to expand my farm into this within two years and prior to the farm expanding - this will serve as a central switch for LAN Parties usually hosted nearly every weekend by friends and me.

However, I'm more than willing to let the others take it if they have better usage of such device. I'll not be offended so just tell me whichever you decide.

EDIT: REQUEST WITHDRAWN

I'm interested in one of the switches. I'm currently using a Linksys WRT54G (works good after putting DDWRT on it) and ran out of open ports. I'm starting to do more PC repair from home (to pay for more boxen) and have to unplug one of mine when I run some updates on someone's PC. Either switch would get a good home, as either one would be overkill for my needs and work great.

I would use the Cisco 1900 but can you post the specs ??

I could use one of the switches and the 10GB hdd

I work at a school for troubled teens and maintain all the computers on campus

I have setup a computer lab that used to consist of AMD K6-2 setups that had dos games on it and such and ran about 10 strong at the time ..now (mostly out of my own pocket) I have severely upgraded the lab to 20 computers ranging from XP 1900+ to AMD 64 3000+ with vidcards ranging from GeForce 3 to 9800 pros to a PCI-e 6600LE so the kids can play cooler more modern games and of course they are all (as well as many other computers on campus) are running F@H..

my quandary is that they have giving me one of the other smaller buildings to keep all my stuff in and I still have a lot of parts of my own laying around as well as older units on campus that have had problems with one thing or the other .. main thing being is that I'm short on hard drives and I will be scavenging and putting together as many units as I can for a couple reasons .. one is to have a back up units ready to go should a staffs computer die all of a sudden ..two is that they can't do any folding while in a million pieces :p

I figure with all the parts I got , I can get another 15 or more comps going and get them setup in the small building they gave me and get them folding .. but I need a big enough switch and working hard drives

Should I ever move on from this place , then I'd take my stuff and set it up at home in my spare bedroom (some of it anyways and donate a few comps to my church or something)

anyhoo , that's what I have going at present.. I can come up with the stuff I need eventually by other means so I'm sure there are others way more in need than I am.

I'll withdraw my request due to the more importance of the community service you are doing. Good luck with that.

Yeah, if someone need it for a better reason than me, let them get it :)

For some reason, I'm getting a mental "Family Guy"-type cut scene:
Setting: Hospital ER
Characters: a crying boy with his mother, a man with a bloody nose, an orderly

Orderly: Okay, who's next?
Mother: My boy fell off his bike and scraped his knee!
Man: My nose has been bleeding for several days.

In rush two EMT's with a gurney.
EMT: This man's been stabbed!

Man and mother sit down.

I would like to keep it one gift per person. I would like to share the freebies.

So please say what you would prefer.

I don't really know more then that. it is a working system pull from an upgrade. I think it has 2 100 ports and the rest are 10 but i not sure what you need know?

I kind of figured there would be more response to this.

I also have a 40 gig HD and a nic card too if anyone needs.

If I don't here anything by midday tom (13th) I will be sending pm's to you guys for info so be looking out for it

Duster, the port speeds is what I wanted to know... With just 2 100 mbps ports, it's not better than my 16 ports switch. But it would be useful for someone else :)
