I think you should try to pool up with some other forum members for parts, build a whole computer, and donate it to someone less fortunate than us for a Christmas gift. I could put up a Power Supply or some Ram.

I'd be glad to take that off your hands. My dad really needs a new computer, and we're tight in budget. That proc could help greatly!
 
I asked him why he gave it to me and he said he didn't need it and thought I needed it since I told him I don't have a cpu, mobo, ram. I told him I was going to i7/x58. He was like, well do something with it since he doesn't want it back. Well, I have a friend that might need it, but...he isn't sure yet since all he does is play gunbound lol. Such as family, no one has said anything yet. Six days to go.
 
People saw "Free E7300" and already 3 full pages of beggars who probably would resell this processor in no time.

Isn't another one of the deadly sins pride (superbia)? As in you thinking you are better than the rest of us "sorely mistaken nerds" because you believe in baby Jesus and don't want a free processor?

Don't bring the 7 deadly sins in here when you contradict yourself. I don't care what the person does once he gets the chip. If a person on this forum does get it, I hope that person puts it to good use. If they need the money go ahead and sell it. If they want to use it as a present, they can. If they intend to use it for themselves, have fun with it. I really don't care what people do to this since I don't need it. My HTPC is good enough for me till I feel like ordering i7/x58 which will be in a week or two.
 
Please count me in. I am trying to built as cheap as possible a decent PC for general computing. Already have case and PSU :)

Put me on the list. If i get it i would put it in my secondary pc, then take the penttum d thats in there now and put it back in my old gateway and take the mbtx motherboard in there and make a homemade case out of it. Prob make a worklog on here so if you want a worklog give it to me.
 
lets all chip in a piece of hardware and then give it to someone who needs it. If we do this, I have a 74gb raptor up to the OS challenge.
 
I would be careful about giving away the chip or selling it. My brother works for intel and they sometimes give away chips to employees. The catch? The employees have to sign agreements that in the event of job termination they have to surrender the chips back to Intel.

The thing is most people work at Intel for years and most of the time the chips get older and Intel hardly wants them back after a few years, but if he signed an agreement and tomorrow he leaves his job he will have to give it back.
