does anyone know of where i can get GOOD FREE dvd software for watching movies on my pc plz :) Win XP Compatible-7:D

MPC (the original, better for XP in some respects), MPC-HC (still works with XP but geared towards Vista and Windows 7), VLC (if you can stand it), and a few others all can handle standard DVD playback meaning if they're retail and require decryption to play. XP didn't come with a proper DVD decoder because of licensing issues at the time; Microsoft required end users to purchase an external decoder from companies like Intervideo (makers of WinDVD), Cyberlink (makers of PowerDVD), and a few other companies.

But MPC, MPC-HC, or VLC will get you going... as MrsOldMX already did. ;)

VLC Media player is the best. Its a small program, that just does it's job and outputs ANY video or audio file I have thrown at it. Totally free, etc.

Huge Blueray rips play just fine, and look superb.

It's one of my MAIN programs i re-install after a format/reload.

Of course, you can use PowerDVD or some other bloated, full of adds, etc.

Win7 Media Center for my blu ray rips, I like fancy menus. :)

Just Vouching for VLC. Not much on resources and does what its supposed to do. Never crashes
