Are there any good (free) benchmarks out there? I would like to benchmark my system, but I'm don't care enough about a number to shell out 30 bucks.
 
You could look at:
3DMark
PCMark
Aquamark
ATI Tool
Everest
Furmark
Geekbench ? (never personally tried)
HDTach
Sandra
SuperPi

Some of these you have to pay for to get the full feature list but I think most of these have a free limited functionality version you can try. Some are more of a stress / testing program but will give you a rating you can compare with.

P.S. They are a mix of CPU and GPU benchmark programs, not just GPU.
 
if you just want gpu go with furmark.. completely disregard 3dmark in any way.. its a pointless benchmark.. but pcmark, aquamark, or cinbench10 are all good benchmarks for the CPU..
 
There is also Street Fighter 4 and Resedent Evil 5 benchmarks aswel
